I am a Board Member and homeowner in a condominium association in Long Beach.  We have had - from time to time - some leaks in old pipes in the walls.  Before I met Larry Holmes of Home Pro Environmental, we had other representatives of other companies come out to evaluate the situation.

Our experiences with those other companies were very disappointing: the immediate recommendation, prior to any testing, is (1) walls need to be removed, and (2) mold needs to be remediated.  The unspoken message is to panic because the situation is a disaster and very dangerous.  These meetings also resulted in proposals for work that ran into thousands of dollars.

Then Larry or his son come out immediately to determine the extent of the problem.  Are the walls wet?  How wet? Is the leak new or of long duration? Especially if of long duration, test for mold.  If walls are very wet, remove the walls. If it is possible to dry the walls with fans and dehumidifiers, do so. Test the air for mold and fungi.  If there is no mold, repair walls and return to normal.  Provide owners with the documentation regarding air quality and molds.  There is no one-size-fits all solution.  Home Pro Environmental evaluates the situation in each home and makes the appropriate recommendation for that home.

Larry was absolutely amazing and completely honest. When other people told me that i needed to spend thousands of dollars in mold remediation, he analyzed the mold lab results and against his own financial interests he told me that i didn't need to spend all the money that others had insisted was necessary.
